standard of service that has always
characterized any dealings of the
Southern Oklahoma Battery Company
have secured the services of another

Gould Service Station of Ardmore.
The Brlcgs-Burba Motor Company
dlHtributors of the Maxwell cars in
Pittsburg county were delivered six
Maxwell touring cars by the local
company here during the week.

Slaughter Motor Company had un
loaded three carloads of Maxwell carl

The new Maxwoll touring car
bought of the (Slaughter Motor Com
pany and piloted by J. C. Dodd of
the suburban town of Mllburn Is at-
tracting considerable attention among

burn and no doubt will be the moans
of ether sales in that territory.
Two Maxwell trucks were delivered
during the week to C. A. Oulnney of
Healdton by the Slaughter Motor
Company. These trucks will be equal
to the heavy hauling required of
motor vehicles In the oil field.
Roy McAloster Is visiting the fac-
tory In Detroit Michigan this week
for the purpose of starting a few
moro Paige and Mormon cars on
their way here and to survoy the pro-
duction conditions The factory Is
working "full speed ahead" and Is
keeping the production even with the
demand but the transportation ftelll-
ties sre working great havoc among
the dealers by the slow delivery of
cars.
Velle Suggs manager of the Suc-
cess Motor Company together with
E. O. Oraves expert In the mechani-
cal department of the Success Motor
Company made a business trip to
Hugo and other towns to the east
Friday and Saturday of this week.
Mr. Suggs reports that things look
unusually blight In Choctaw county.
C. C. Conant of the sales depart-
ment of the Diamond T Truck Com-
pany Is spending the week here with
the Stroman Motor Company In con-
nection with his monthly trips to the
Diamond T truck dealers about the
southwest.
The Stroman Motor Company have
delivered a Diamond T two ton truck
on giant pneumatics to the Carter
Transfer Company. Securing this
truck places the Carter Transfer
people In the front for service.

Stroman Motor Company Is the de-
livery of a white wire wheeled coupe
to Mr. Lynn of Madlll. This ear
has aroused much interest In buyers
of cars and will attract the atten
tlon cf owners of other varieties of

spending the week end in Oklahoma

Petitions win be circulated In the
city this week getting signatures of
duty qualified voters asking that
the proposed amendments to the city
charter for the managerial form of
government be submitted to a vote of
the people and it Is anticipated that
It will require but a very few days
te obtain the necessary number to
call the election.
Under the law tS per cent of the
total vote oast at the last general
election mnst be represented on the
petition after which they win be
presented to the mayor and board
of nlty commissioners who will call
the election.
Twenty-five daya after the can li
lasoed the election is to be held and
the people gives a chance to make
their choice by the ballot. Friends
of the charter are confident that they
will secure the signatures necessary
and they are also confident of an
overwhelming majority In favor of tha
amendments when the matter Is sub-
mitted to the people.
TWO NEGROES ARRESTED
ON CHARGE OF ROBBERY

negroes ware arrested Sunday and
placed in the county Jail for inves-
tigation In connection with a hold-up
of a white man that took place Lite
Saturday night on East Main street.
The man whose name the police were
unable to give alleges that he was
hold up and robbed of 1104 about
midnight Saturday night and from
the deaoripMun given the police by
him officers Johnson and McLaughlin
picked - up the two negroes named
above for Investigation.

as deputy sheriff and is thoroughly
