Well Jack Frost came Friday
night and made us a visit that we
are sorry os a large acreage of feed
is standing yet that should have
been cut. However Jack Frost
came along and got in his work.
Marion Carter is not feeling the
best in t le world physically, and s
in some danger of being codfined
- to his bed unless he has the best
of attention.
Billy Carter a livery man from
Mooreland is in this neighborhood
visiting home folks.
Mrs Harrison Lndden is visiting
with Mrs Wm Carter.
O A White moved a large barn
to one of Mike Lydens farms last
week.
Harvey Woods is on the list
with the sick this week but is
better now.
Henry Nelson's brother-in-law
is here from Arkansas.
Wm. Olds family are all sick
but Mrs. Olds and the baby.
Geo. Laswell now owns one of
the muliest mules in Oklahoma,
having bought old Kate, Will
Worley's right hand bower.
We had the pleasure of seeing
one of the fastest driving teams
last week that we have seen since
we left Kansas. The team belongs
to J. H. Dail. Any time you think
you have a mule team that can
run faster than they trot, just slip
up behind Uncle John and tell him
you are going around him. The
laugh will be on you. We know
because we tried it.
Cade Coats and wife of Barton
C/unty, Mo., are visiting with Bert
Shaws this week.
Harrison Luddtn lost a valuable
horse last week while 011 a drive.
Some thought the cause was con-
ge t 011 of the lungs.
A H Carter And wife are the
proud parents of a baby boy; ar-
rived Saturday morning. All do-
ing well.
Jas. Black and wife attended
church at Mooreland, Sunday.
Marion Star and Tom Robinson j
attended Masonic lodge Saturday
night in Curtis. Tom Robinson
staid over Sunday with his old
Friend, Geo. Hotz.
Mrs. B. C. Rhoads is visiting
with home folks this week.
Curt Shaw hauled fat hogs to
Mooreland market Monday, Jesse
Wyckoff being the buyer.
I) M Taylor returned home from
three different county fairs, where
he took ffrst mom y with his horse,

1 Mrs. Joe Fussel returned Wed-
nesday from Wichita, where she
has been visiting her sisters.
Nearly everybody is shucking
corn in our neck of the timber Mr. ^
Tanner already has 600 bu. in crib |

have cut and shocked 850 shocks * *
of feed this fall and expect to cut * *
200 more. They each have a mule ,
and a safety sled. They get on
their sled and holler Jack and Jude
and the sled do.'S the work. Vic-
tor is a small boy not yet 14 J'ears
old and does more work than two-
thirds of the men, writer included.
Dewey, the three year old step-
son of Ed Kelso, took a .22 calibre
rifle from behind the door at Chas
Pratt's, last Wednesday, and step-
ped about 15 feet from the door,
placed the butt of the gun 011 the
ground, bent his litile body over
the muzzle and iii some manner
he gun was discharged and result-
ed in the almost instant death of
the little boy, the ball penetrating
his body near the heart. Little
Dewey would have been 4 years old
the 14th ot December. He was
laid to rest in the Enterprize cem-
etery; Rev. Tanner having charge
of the funeral.
Jim Worley bought a pair of
those long eared ponies at the Car-
ter & Worley tale.
ArtModlin is laid up with a sore
hand.
Nels Chriesienson and crew cut
feed for Wm Olds Friday and Sat-
urday.
Eddie Tanner bought a buggy
of Frank Wess. It is too cold to
ride horseback these cold nights,
Jess Kincheloe is working in our
neighborhood. Jess is a nephew
of J W Gray, north of Osiris.
Jack Woods is the owner of a
new saddle.
Jim Carter, Manlove Davis and
Henry McMillan hauled Billy Car-
ters household effects to Mooreland
Tuesday.
John Stadler is helping Wm.
Olds this week. John is a very
busy man and has lots to do at
home, but when a neighbor needs
help he is Johnny on the spot.
Dr Pollard bought another horse
lately.
Emma Pollard is visiting her
sister, Mrs Walter Carter.
Tillis Wood left for Tescott, Ks.
Saturday. Tillis is making ar-
rangements to make this country
his future home.
Drs. Queen and Flagg held con
sultation over Wm Olds, Sunday.
I Marion and Walter Carter ran
over a coyote with a buggy, Sun-
day, and crippled it so that they
caught it by the tail and finished
it with their buggy whip.
Ed Sanimers traded his broom
corn seeder to JL Stewart of Quin-
lan. Ed has balled 1500 bales this

district 16 school house, Friday
evening, Nov. 6. Everybody in-
