Refinery
Hia
The coming to Ardmore of this refinery marked an important epoch in
the life of the city- It was the first refinery ever built in the city it took (lie
name of the town where it was located the management has always cooper-
ated with every movement for the uplift and welfare of this city and Ard-
more's relations with it have always been the most pleasant. Ardmore feels
that this refinery is its own institution. Its managers and employes have been
strictly for Ardmore and Ardmore interests at all limes.
Following- the establishment of this refinery filling stations were built
at different places all over the city. Some of these stations were beautifully
built and would do credit to any city.
The men who sold gasoline from the Ardmore Refinery delivered it in trucks to
every town in this county and it has furnished gasoline for automobiles oper-
ated in the oil fields in the rural distr cis and in the cities and because it was
Ardmore's first refinery and because of its clever and generous management
it seems closest to the affections of the people of this city.
So well has it been managed that it has increased its capaacitv as much
as 1000 per cent. It operates on crude produced in Carter County. It has
furnished a market for local producers. It has been a part and parcel of
Ardmore since this city became the capital of the oil producing region of
Southern Oklahoma and it is the sincere wish of Ardmore that it may con-
tinue to grow and ito prosper through all the years to come.
