Sunday night ut 7:40, as the lasi
hymn was be'as sung, before the bo-
ginning of services at the Methodist
church, something like thirty klans-
men made their appearance. Some
of tho congregation was gathering
In at the main entrance when a
number of automobiles drew up i.
front of the church. Silently ctnd
systematically the "white robru
Knights," followed their leader. >\ •
was proceeded by the standard ben
er with a United States flag in his
right hand, the procession enteroc
me church. As the leader reached,
the front of the pulpit he deposited
a communication, and without halt-
ing, marched on. followed by his fel-
low klanbmen. Each klansman, as
he approached tho alter, dropped a
contribution in front of Rav. Garri-
son and marched on, silently nnd ou
of the door south of the main en
trance. On account of the prosonce
of the presiding elder an unusuall
large crowd -was present to ^wltne'
the demonstration. As usual, tlic
affair was staged v*ry quietly and
every move seemed as if it had been
carefully plann d and timed Not
a bobble or a mistep. Out of thr
darkness of night they came, silent-
ly and mysteriously, and disappeared
in the same manner
After servloce, tho pastor, Rov.
W. E. Garrison, found the communi-
cation left by the klansmen, but as
the larger portion of the congrcga
tion had gone to their homes, he did
not read the message to them, bu
has promised to unfold the myster-
ious communication next Sundav
evening. By some hook or crook
the Arrow-Democrat man did not
procure a copy of the original letter
and had it not been for the kind
ness of a Muskogee daily we would
not be ablo to givo our readers any
idea as to what was left by the
knights of the white robe on Sun*
day evoning. Since Mr. Garrison
han refused to disclose the comrnnn
cation, or any part of It, wo are not
sure that tho copy we reproduce
here is a fac simile of the one in his
possession:
