DROVE HUSBAND FROM HOME
Act of Militant Suffragette That Was
Too Arbitrary to Be Upheld
by the Court.
The results that may ensue from
being married to a suffragette were re-
vealed the other day in a London
(Eng ) suburban police court. Mrs.
TunniclIRe took up the cause and was
not able to spend much time at home.
When the husband remonstrated she
simply commanded her daughter to
pack her father's gripsack and there
arid then ordered him out of the house.
He went, and then the lady sued him
for desertion and demanded alimony.
"Hut surely you did not take it so
feebly?" asked the magistrate of the
husband.
"It was no Use objecting." was the
answer. "She wanted to be master and
said that if I annoyed her she would
lock me up. I was only too anxious to
go back home, but she would not let
me."
The case was dismissed.
Oklahoma City—Oklahoma City and
the surrounding country was visited
by another $.">00,000 rain Saturday
and Sunday. In all, Just 1.20 inches
of rainfall was registered at the local
weather bureau. The storm swept
over the entire southwest, Oklahoma
receiving the major portion of the
rain. Starting Saturday night in a
drizzle and with the heavy wind con-
spicuous because of its absence, the
downpur was steady and -mild.
The benefits of the rain were dou-
bled because of the manner in which
it fell. The steadiness gives the
ground ample time to absorb all which
is exactly the reverse in a cloudburst
or heavy short rain. The farmers
were rejoicing Sunday night over the
prospects cow for a good crop of al-
falfa, wheat, corn and garden vege-
tables.
Predictions at the local weather bu-
reau are to the effect that the heav-
iest of the Btorm has passed, and
while there may be slight showers,
the fall will be hardly noticeable.
There seems little danger of frost
according to J. P. Slaughter, In charge
of >the bureau, because the clouds
have passed over and with this will
come warm weather and clear days.
A drenching rain Sunday swept over
the whole northern and eastern part
of the state, accompanied by thunder
and lightning in the north central.
Inestimable benefit was done the state
crops, according to the reports. The
hardest rain was in the eastern and
northeastern sections, where a steady
downpour continued from early in the
morning throughout the day. In the
north central quite a hard rain con-
tinued all morning, but became mild
in the afternoon and had practically
stopped by early evening. The west-
ern part of the state was visited by
showers in the morning, and m the ex-
treme southwestern part no rain has
been felt since Saturday.
HELP FOR THE AGED.
No Need to Longer Suffer from Kidney
Trouble.'
Mrs. Catherine Sullivan, 1712 Mof-
fatt St., Joplln, Mo., says: "Like most
elderly people, I suffered from kidney
trouble for years. My back ached in-
tensely and there
was a feeling of
numbness in my
spine. My hands
cramped and the
urinary passages
were profuse. Doc-
tors prescribed for
me but I was not
benefited. At last I
began taking Doan's Kidney Pills.
They drove my troubles away, and I
now enjoy excellent health."

Benefit in Outdoor Schools.
Speaking before the National Associ-
ation for the Study and Prevention of
Tuberculosis recently. Dr. Henry Far-
Hum Stall of Hartford, Conn , said:
"Every city should have one or more
outdoor school." He recommended
such institutions for all delicate, so-
called scrofulous or anaemic children,
and those with tuberculosis of the
bones, who are now in ordinary
schools. Doctor Stoll declared that
twenty or forty per cent, of school
children in large cities are infected
with tuberculosis. Hy the use of tu-
' 4>orcu1in, it was ascertained that 7!) per
cent, of the children from tuberculous
homes were infected as against only 26
per cent, of those from supposedly
healthy homes. It was also found that
50 per cent, of the frail children from
healthy homes had the germs of the
disease, but that only 13 per cent, of
the robust children from similar homes
were thus affected.

BABY WASTED TO SKELETON
"My little son, when about a year
and a half old, began to have sores
come out on his face. 1 had a physi-
cian treat him, but the sores grew
worse. Then they began to come out
on his arms, then on other parts of
his body, and then one came on his
chest, worse than the others. Then I
called another physician. Still he
grew worse. At the end of about a
year and a half of suffering he grew
so bad that I had to tie his hands in
cloths at night to keep him from
scratching the sores and tearing the
flesh. He got to be a mere skeleton,
and was hardly able to walk.
"My aunt advised me to try Cuti-
cura Soap and Cuticura Ointment. I
Bent to a drug store and got a cake of
Cuticura Soap and a box of the Oint-
ment and followed directions. At the
end of two months the sores were all
well. He has never had any sores
of any kind since. I can sincerely say
that only for Cuticura my child would
have died. I used only one cake of
Cuticura Soap and about three boxes
of Ointment.
"I am a nurse and my profession
brings me into many different fam-
ilies and It Is always a pleasure for
me -to tell my story and recommend
Cuticura Remedies. Mrs. Egbert Shel-
don, Litchfield, Conn., Oct. 23, 1909."

An actress said of Eleanor Robson:
"She Is a dear. She has married Au-

"She said that In conversation with
a leading matron of this gilded, this
jeweled set, she once said:
" 'And where do you think you'll
spend the summer, Mrs. Van Gelt?"
" 'Er—-the North Cape, I believe,'
Mrs. Van Gelt answered. 'One can get
ski ing there all through August, you
know.'
" 'And where will you spend the win-

" 'Oh. Florida, by all means. There's

When Your Meals
Disagree
It is certainly time to take immediate
action if you would ward of! a serious
sick spell. It is positive proof of a
weak stomach and deranged digestion
and for which you cannot take a better
medicine than Hostetter's Stomach
Bitters; but remember this, the longer
you put off giving the assistance need-
ed by the digestive system the harder
it is going to be to cure you. We know of
hundreds of cases, taken in hand at the
very beginning in which a short course
of the Bitters proved very efficacious.
Therefore, be persuaded to get a bottle
today from your druggist or dealer, and
thus avoid all possible danger of a sick
spell. It is a wonderful tonic and in-
vigorant for overworked, nervous and
run-down persons, and in cases of Poor
Appetite, Bloating, Heartburn, Indi-
gestion, Dyspepsia, Costiveness, and
Malaria it is the best.
