when the homeseeker excursion COUNCIL
trains arrived, the mass of people
that alighted swarmed the platform
like bees, The two trains contained
about sixteen cars, each loaded to
the platforms.
Several of the travelers remained
in this city. From the reports of
the real estate men, some good sales
were made. Sapulpa is much bene-
fitted bv these excursions. We are
informed that the Frisco will pull
them off now for the summer.

holdings that a Freedman could tint
make a valid oil and gas lease with-
out the approval of the secretary of

oil and gas, if it ever had any, by
failure to explore and develop the
property for such mineral purposes
within a reasonable time after get-

Upon invitation from the City
Council the Sapulpa Business Men's
League met with that body Monday
night to discuss the sewer contract,
which seems to be arousing much in-
terest. The Council has signed the
contract for the sewer system, and
it is rumored that said contract

Chief Game! had tlit suspect, a Mr.
Knarr. former husband of the land-
lady ol the Palace. Knarr called
the chief by phone about 2 o'clock
Thursday morning, telling him time

minutes after the call, but discovered
no boot-leggers. Knarr was
present, having left his room a block
away, and walking to the Palace
alone.
Upon investigation and the
actions of Knarr. he was arrested
and before Judge Avery
yesterday paid a fine of $17.75 and
was ordered to leave the city within
twenty-four hours.
It developed at the trial that
Knarr is at present under a bond to
appear in Shawnee in September to
answer charges of house burning.
Mrs. Knarr has had him arrested in
Sapulpa several times for loafing
about her place. Knarr and his wife
have separated.
