My Dear Folks:
We remained at until the
next day and then went on board
ship for France. We crossed attei
night so I did not see much of the
channel. I slept during the whole
trip and wake that morning in
France. I haven't seen enough of
France yet to tell you much asout
. The people are mostly dark with
big black eyes and hair. Ihey are
very industrious, cultivating the
iand on side hills wnere we would
not think of doing such a thing
The houses are very old, built of
stone nd covered with tiles and
grown over with moss.
It is raining here today making
everything disagreeable, but I am
learning to be oontenied under any
