to all.

Ribbon Cane.
The Agricultural Department
warns the public against frauds who
are advertising that they have ribbon
cane seed for sale. There is no
such thing. Ribbon cane produces
the finest syrup and sugar known to
commerce, but it is not grown from
seed, but is rcoted from the joints.
This cane is better adapted to low
altitudes, warm climate, and bottom
loam lands, such as are found in
southern Texas and Louisiana. It
might do fairly well in parts of Okla-
homa, but we have no information of
an experiment with it here. Four
pounds of ribbon cane joints by mail
will cost aixty cents .postage, and if
it can be sufficiently matured here
for grinding and boiling into syrup,
the sugar and molasses question of
this country will be settled. tor
tea, coffee, and baking ribbon cane
syrup is excellent. The wholesale
merchants of Southern cities pui-
chase ribbon cane syrup at fifty
cents per gallon, mix three-fourths
glucose with it (an almost worthless
article,) and sell this compound to
the trade at two or three hundred
per cent, profit. The Enterprise
would be glad it some of our farmers
would club and send for enough of
these cane joints for half an acre
and give this cane a thorough test.
If it can be matured here, the syrup
and sugar will be of a much finer
quality than if grown in the lower,
warmer altitudes for the well-known
reason that a larger percentage of
saccarine is produced in semiarid
countries.

The School Bond Election.
Next Saturday afternoon the ques-
tion of issuing bonds to the amount
of $10,000 for the erection of a
school house will again be submitted
to the voters of the district. All
are agreed that the district is badly
in need of a more modern school
house and when all the details are
thoroughly understood, we believe
that a majority in the district will
vote for them.
If you have any prejudices lay
them aside and vote for the bonds
and start Carney on the upward
grade. Be a booster.
The town election on Tuesday was
rather a tame affair, there being but

Marshal, A. W. Wilson; Trustees
1st ward, C. S. Waters, C. L
