Presbyterian Student's Reception
Notwithstanding the rain and the
threatening weather some two or three
hundred students crowded the Presby-
terian church to Its utmost capacity
Monday evening, the occasion being
the annual reception of that church to
the faculty and students of the Normal
and it is the opinion of all who were
present at that time that this was the
most unique and original student's re-
ception ever given in Edmond. Enter-
ing the church the students were con-
fronted by a great black curtain stretch-
ed clear a:ross the south end of the
church, but the mystery of that curtain
was solved when the young gentlemen
and ladies of the church distributed
the score caids for the evening, head-
ed—"Advertisements in Charades,"
and Rev. Wardner explained that the
evenings entertainment would consist

The Mardin (Oklahoma) Star says:
"Germaine, the magician, was greeted
by a crowded house Monday night, and
a more pleased audience never existed.
The entertainment surpassed all ex-
pectations. The performance was
mysterious, humorous and entertaining
and the immense audience were loath
to leave at the close. If Germaine
ever visits Nardin again the house will
not hold them". At Edmond Normal
hall Nov 12.

Nautilus Club.
"Some merry, friendly country folks
Together will convene
To burn their nits an' pou their stocks,
An' hand their Hallowe'en,
Fu' blythe the night."—Burns.
The Nautilus club year-book gives
this invitation, and accordingly its
members were "at home" to their hus-
bands and gentlemen friends at the
handsome home of Mr. and Mrs. Buell.
The spacious rooms were tastefully
and appropriately decorated with au-
tnmn leaves, jack-o'-lanterns, and
amusing placards.
Upon ariiving, the guests, by means
of sheets, pillow-case, and mask, were
converted into ghosts. After an intro-
ductory, grand march, amusing diver-
sions made the evening pass quickly.
The ghosts were taken to the witches'
cave—the cellar—where they were
given a bitter mixture to drink; bad
luck following the one who refused his
portion. Shocks from a concealed
battery also added to the discomfort
of the cave. The fortunes of the guests
were told by the charming witches,
Misses Louise Houston and Mariel
Hopkins. Games, appropriate to the
evening, were played, after which re-
freshments, consisting of pumpkin pie,
assorted nuts, and apples were served
on wooden plates.
Much credit for the success of the
evening is due the genial host and
hostess, Mr. and Mrs. Buell.
