This report was declared by the state

I he New Oil Fields Southeast of
the City.
Nearly every day brings news of
more wells being drilled in just
southeast of the city, and it has
already proven to be an extended
field from the southeast to the
northwest direction. Gunsberg &
Foreman drilled in a 100-barrel veil,
on the Rinehardt land, an offset to
the well on the Gillespy farm, aid a
little over a quarter of a mile south
of the Garden Addition owned by
Wilkinson. There have probably been
25 wells in all drilled in this new
field, and now that Gunsberg & Fore-
man have a big block of leases in
the field and have begun developing
their holdings, it proves without a
doubt that this is a good field, as
this firm is one of the largest oil
producers in Oklahoma.
Nowata has two of the most mod-
ern, uptodate hotels in the state, both!
being just recently completed and
built at a cost of over $150,000. These1
will enable the city to get many con-
ventions to meet here. The city has
been unable to get them heretofore
on account of not having proper ac-
commodations for a large number of
people. The building of the last two
hotels gives Nowata three large ho-
tels, the new Campbell Hotel cost-
ing over $85,000 and the new Savoy
Hotel costing $72,000.
