DRIVERS BADLY BURNED.
John Murphy anil C. V. Wordarn,
tvho are in the employ of the Wichita
Gas Co., were badly burned Wed-
nesday when the traction, engine
I which they were driving exploded
They were about 12 miles east of No-
wata on their way to the new pump-
ing Station that the Wichita people
are building, when they ran over a
dmall gas line and broke it. The
gas escaped and reached the boiler
on the engine and un explosion oc-
curred. Wordarn, who was driving
[was burned about the head and hands
'and was a little bruised from being
blown off his seat. Murphy was
walking a little ahead and was
only slightly burned about the hands.
The men were hurried to Nowata at
once for treatment.
