The prosperity of ti town is not
guarded by the wea 1 ti 1 of its inhab-
itants, but by the uniformity
with which they pull together
when any important undertaking
is to be accomplished. A man
with a thousand dollars at his
command and a love 1 or town in
ibis heart, can do more for the
I building up and improving of it
than the millionare who locks up
his capital and snaps at home

The deposed speaker of tin
Texas house of representatives
has written a letter that sears the
hair of Cow Campbell and those
committees who were appointed
to investigate, by stating his
downfall was nothing more than a
fear that he would appoint a pen-
itentiary committee that would
not whitewash things.
The Opinion acknowledges
many errors in hist we-'ks issue,
but owing to the sad news of a
mother's serious illness and
death, we were not mentally
capacitated for the duties we were
endeavoring to perform. Our ef-
forts in the future will be direct-
ed to the betterment of the Opin-

,\ good country road is the con-
necting link between the larms
and the towns. If a fanner can
haul one thousand pounds of bis
products with two horses over
bad roads" he should be able to
haul two thousand pounds over a
good road, This gain of one hun-
dred per cent is wortn the ex-
pense in cost ot construction to
the industrious farmer.
