suicide, since all other manufacturers,
except the one given as the best,
would at once withdraw their advertis-
ing patronage.
In view of the difficulties to a cor-
rect decision, this paper decided to
make a thorough investigation, the re-
sult of which would be a decided
answer as to which is the best. We
fully realize the responsibility of mak-
ing such a decision, since we are aware
that our readers will accept it as
final and worthy of fullest credence.
For the benefit of new readers we wish
to state that such faith on the part
of our old readers is caused by their
knowledge of the invariable method
pursued by the Reports, by which we
can conscientiously give an independ-
ent and unbiased report on any ar-
ticle manufactured. This method con-
sists in examining closely all the
various makes by means of our edi-
torial and reportorial staff, without
the knowledge of any manufacturer
interested, and further without making
any charges, accepting any gifts or
soliciting any advertisements from
any one whose wares we may pass
upon.
As a result we are prepared to state
that there is no make of Cement Block
Machines on the market today equal
to those manufactured by the Stewart
Cement Block Machine Co., of Water-
loo, la. These cement block machines
are made of the best material, are
durable in use, perfect in construction,
and will give entire satisfaction at all
times. This machine is the fastest
block machine made. More than
be made in one day with two men
than can be made with four men on
any other machine.
The company is thoroughly reliable
in every respect and can be depended
upon. Their business is conducted on
a line that is pleasing to each and
every customer, and promptitude is a
special feature of their business meth-
ods. They also stand high commer-
cially.
GRANITE PLANT FOR SALE.
The Abilene Granite Co., of Granite,
Okla., will sell for cash their entire
Finishing Plant and Quarry to the
highest bidder on Wednesday, Aug.
22, 1906, at Granite, Okla.
There are near 20 acres in the quar-
ry of the prettiest red granite on the
market, equalling the Rose Swede or
Scotch Peter Head, and known as
American Rose. The Quarry is opened
up and proven to be a No. 1. in quali-
ty. At the quarry is a $1,500 steam
hoist and derrick, steam drill and all
necessary equipment. The Quarry
alone will soon be worth what the en-
tire plant may sell for.
The Finishing Shed is on a block
of land on Main St., and adjoining the
railroad track. The buildings at the
plant cost between three and four
thousand dollars and are well planned
and substantially built.
The machinery consists of a 90 h.
p. boiler and a 70 h. p. engine, a fif-
teen hundred dollar column cutter,
splendid traveling crane, good air com-
presser and large surfacing machine
and complete system of pneumatic
tools, four big polishing machines,
yard derrick and loading derrick—in
fact, it is as complete a plant as can
be found in the East. The machinery
is all new and ready to start up. The
plant is 2,000 feet from the quarry and
is so constructed that with a track
supplied, gravity would carry stone
from quarry to shed. There is a won-
derful demand for this stone, and there
is not a better business proposition
in Oklahoma.
The plant is unencumbered and is
owned by men who are not practical
granite men, but are engaged in oth
er business and at a meeting of the
stockholders, this sale was ordered.
The plant will be sold to the high-
est bidder for cash, $1,000 down and
balance in 30 days. For further par-
ticulars, address,
ABILENE GRANITE CO., Abilene,
Kansas, of Granite, Okla.
