('In otnw City, O. I .. April "03.
To tli!- Western World.
I want t<> answer a question which
has l < li asked in your paper. The
question—"Can you make an im-
moral Christian as good as a moral
Christian V' It' you take the question
from a reasoning and logical stand-
point. it answers itself. There are
no immoral Christians. If they have
been changed in the spirit of Christ
then they must he pure like Christ,
and they then take on the form of
Christian character. Christ taught
Xicodemus that there were no ini-
moral Christians. An immoral per-
son can not be a Christian. The
blood of our Savior makes the foul-
est clean. The spirit of (iod teaches
that one Christian is as good as an-
other. Our Father hears all prayers
and the thief on the cross was re-
membered by a dying Savior. A
Christian should love, not scorn. We
hope this will answer the question.

NUMBER TWO.
(Concluded).
Subject: "The Controversy Be-
tween Immortality of the Soul and
Mortal Man."
The object in offering this subject
is: To refute strange anderroneoiw
doctrines that ore being taught
among our young people. Learned
men were with us of another race and
denomination, declared that there is
110 such thing as immortality of the
soul, and the word everlasting pun-
ishment could not be found in the
Bible. It was ably discussed, for the
former, the lecturer, presented the
following scriptures for refutation:
1 John .">:1: I John 5:11; St. John
ti ;54: 1 Timothy 0:12; Hebrews
10:39.
Everlasting nunislnnent: Math.
2"> :4; 25:40; Mark 3:*2!l- 2nd Thess.
1:9. The lecturer well proved his
subject, which seemed to be a blessing
to many confused minds.

FRAUD IN CREEK LEASES
itlunk Form* Received l y Speculators in
Advance-giving Tliem A<Ivhh1uk'«*
Ml -Koe.ee: Blank forms of the new
Creek oil and gas leases, together with
the new rules and regulations for get-
ting leases have been transmitted from
Washington to certain persons in the
Indian Territory in advance of their re-
ceipt by the United States Indian agent
iiere. This priority is regarded a-; a
great advantage by persons seeking
leases, as it will enable speculators hav-
ing the forms to go into the field and
lease the most desirable lands possible
before less fortunate persons even knew
that a new form of lease nas been ap-
proved by the secretary of the interior
A co]iv of the new Oil irokae oil and ga
lease form has been received by J. Blair
Shoenfi It, United States Indian agent,
for his personal information, but none
for distribution has come to him. A
supply of leases is printing in Washing-
ton. Mr. Shoenfelt said that he bus
been notified that the new Creek lease
forms also were printing in "Washington,
but he bad not received a copy. This
statement Mr. Shoenfelt savs makes
conditions in the Tulsa and Ked Fork oil
regions of much interest.
It is known that 800Creek lease blanks
were received at Tulsa 011 April ".'1st by
express from Washington. It was not
known here that the new lease form had
been approved by the secretary of the
interior, although the date ot his ap-
proval is April 15th. Agents of the firm
of Guffey & Gaily, oil operators of Pitts-
burg, Pa., heavily interested ill the
Beaumont field and lessees of a tract of
oil and gas land in the Osage Indian
reservation, Oklahoma, ten by twelve
miles ill si/.e, immediately became ac-
tive in this neighborhood in getting oil
and gns leases from Indian citizens and
are belived to be as industriously at
work 111 the Bartlesville field. J K.
Jones, jr., son of Senator Jones of Ark-
ansas, was in Tu&la several days thiij
week and is thought to be interested in
the new leases. The work lias been
done quietly and is known to only a
limited number of persons. Should the
secretary of the interior approve these
new leases there will be an outcry from
oil and gas speculators who have been
waiting for the new lease forms to be
issued regularly through official chan-
nels.
