NORMAL BOYS CHARGED
WITH WHEAT STEALING.
Serious Charges Preferred Against
Abner Kincaid and Tom Taylor.
Edmond, Okla., Sept. 9.—The Enter-
prise says: Abner Kincaid and Tom
Taylor, who live near Yukon, who at-
attended the normal school here last
year, and who have visited Edmond
often this summer and associated
with leading young people of the town,
are fugitives from the law. The young
men told their friends here one story
and those searching tell an entirely
different tale about them. The story
against the young men is to the effect
that last Friday night, Fatty Williams
noticed Kincaid driving west, and
wondering where he was going,
watched and found that Kincaid drove
to an old house used as a granary on
the south place of liud Tharp. The
place is five miles north and two miles
east of Yukon, and Kincaid lives in
the same neighborhood.* It la said
that Williamson watched Kincaid and
his companion load the wheat; that
he then got a son of Bud Tharp, who
lived on the other part of the farm and
they overlook the wagon in a grove
about seven milt* from Oklahoma
ICty. The wagon had stopped as It
was raining. As the story goes a
''heap big talk" took place and a set-
tlement was arrived at to the effect
that Kincaid was to take the weat on
to Oklahoma iCty and then pay over
a certain sum of money. Williamson
and Tharp left and Kincaid and his
companion abandoned the wagon in-
stead of taking it on to the city. A
phone message to Yukon says the
wheat story is current there and that
officers are looking for Taylor and
Kincaid. Town Marshal Hitch was no-
tified to arrest the boys Tuesday, but
they had gone. They were in Edmond
Sunday and Monday. They hired a
team at Waters barn at 2 o'clock
Tuesday morning, saying they had to
go to the city having received a mes-
sage that folks were sick. The team
was returned at 5 o'clock In the after-
noon by another party and Mr. Kln-
caid's rubber tire buggy was taken
away by himi The farmers west of
here claim to have been missing
wheat.
