Frank Ephraim Must move
I must vacate my present location within the next three
weeks, I have purchased the building one door west of my
present location, and my great removal sale starts at once.
I housands of dollars worth of clothing, gents furnishings, Hats
and shoes will be sold at a great sacrifice. Everyone in Nor-
man and the surrounding country knows that when Frank Eph-
raim advertises a sale he means just what he says, to give the
people a chance to bvy merchandise cheaper than ever before,
It is useless to quote prices. Come to this store and see for
yourself the great bargains you will get. Before moving to my
new location I wish to close out my entire stock and cost will
not be considered. Come at once and get a supply of things
you need or will need soon.

JOHN S. ALLAN editor
The present city council seems to
be interested in petting up the paving
question again? No use for present
council to take on any more work
until It disposes of work it has on
hand. Let the present city council
do the work It has on hand and show
the d eople that it can do things in a
business like manner. The old council
has absolutely made It necessary for
this council to SHOW the people. It
has been suggested to the present
council that It take up the matter of
paving the alleys in the rear of the
business blocks on main street where
for sanitary reasons paving is needed
and where few If any of the property
owners would not be in favor of pav
ing and thus get the work of paving
started and the people seeing, may be
convinced that more paving would be
a good thing. The present council,
how ever, does not seem disposed to
' pave any unless it paves a grat deal
'and this is pretty good evidence that
the paving proposition is too big a
question for present council to be
entrusted to l^indle. It is the property
owners abutting on the paving that
pay for the paving, not the whole city
and such property owners will want
to know ibat paving will be beneficial
| to their property as well as to the
city be for, they petition for paving
to be done. The city council should
try to have the aliens aboye men-
tioned paved and succeeding In this
It will make the matter of getting
some of the streets paved a much
more feasib e proposition than it is at
present. The great need of a lot of
service water pipe lines is felt and
council has been provided with the
means to put in such lines; but it is
doing It. Why? Waiting for the
weather to get cooler and when the
need of water will not be so greatly
felt.
HE just smiles.
Ardmore ,Okla., June 19.—Wm. H.
Murray of Tishomingo, president of
the constitutional convention, was in
the city for a short time this morn-
0U
ing on his way home from Oklaho-
ma City.
Questioned as to his candidacy for
the governorship race Mr. Murray
would not deny or affirm that he was
or was not, but smiled a knowing
smile that might indicate that a sug-
gestion that he was a candidate was
very pleasing. When asked if he
wa- aware that numerous people has
said that he was running and that he
was an avowed candidate, he said
that he knew it, and that he received
on an average of 300 letters a week
boosting him for the office. To each
of the writers "Alfalfa Bill" said he
replied thanking them for their kind
words and expressions, and that if
they wanted to believe that he was
running it was all right with him.
Mr. Murray has been looking after
some legislation that is known as
the "drainage" bill and which seeks
to reclaim from swamps a large
amount of valuable lands. Of this sev-
eral thousand acres is owned by the
former legislator, and which he says
will be worth several hundreds times
its present value when it has been
reclaimed.
-Mr. Murray said he had been too
busy at home on his farm makiiu
crops to know how the political
game was going.
