American Surgeons in Manila Solve
Problem.
Manila, Aug. 15.—American surg-
eons connected with the board of
health of Manila declare that they
have discovered a positive cure for
leprosy. Of twenty five cases treated
all have improved, six cases bein^ ab-
solutely cured. Several patients,
porlionsof whose bodies were gone,
have recovered. All of the cases have
been under observation for at least
six months, and it is absolutely Imp.*
sible to discover a trace of the germs
of the disease in the blood of the pa-
tients. The method used is a system
of X-rays. Thesurgeons do not desire
their names to be mentioned at pres-
ent. Tbey will not ask for the re-
wards which have been offered by vari
ous governments for a cure for lep-
rosy.
