It is a great
showing from a p ] standpoint, n >
douot but like all their showing it
will prove a boomerang. It is
only neee— irv for the reader to
read it carefully and ho will disco-
ver that it is a mass of falsehoods
very thinly disguised. In this as
in all other atements on this line
the facts in issue are always avoid-
ed. We have proven conclusively
that belied about the indcbtednc-s
of the county when tie- state-
ment was made some time ago that
our indebtedness was #92.000 and
we had hoped that our financial
credit would not again sufler from
such- a lie to help any one into offi-
ce. In this amount he has includ-
ed the bomls which have not been
sold and whi< h will when sold take
up a like amount of the warrant in-
debtedness. If our indebtedness is

by the administration of court
affairs by Judge Scott, who is really
the one who should have credit for
the smaller expenditures, for it is
well known the saving is all in the
court expeuBi'H, and in no other
way that is hardly worth mention-
ing. We have only had court about
the same m inher of weeks in a
year, since Jud^o Scott got the doc-
ket cleared up, while Judge Clark
occupied mouths; it should he re-
membered that tho pour people of
ibis county have contributed their
time, that was paid for, while the
democrats wirt In office. All we
ask ot the people of the county is a
fair and impartial investigation of
the record, and that they keep the

Mort L. Bixler, editor of Norman
Democrat, has now ready for the
press a text book to be used in the
public schools to assist the teach-
ers iu giving their pupils some-
thing practical in tho way of an in-
dustrial education. One of the
greatest faults in our present edu-
cational system is that while the
students are acquiring book knowl-
edge they have but little oppurnity
to study the actual affairs of life
and it is frequently the case that
the youth who has spent but little
time in school seems to have the ad-
vantage of the educated one in the
actual strife and controversy that
every man must meet and contend
within order to succ< ed. The book
in question is entitled, "Bixler's
Manual of Industrial Education
and Domestic Economy:" There
has been a number of works publish-
ed along this line, but they are
not practical as a t >xt book in pub-
lic schools fur they require a knowl-
edge of higher mathematics in or-
der to teach or understand the sub-
ject. The work of Mr. Iiixler s is
so simple that every intelligent pu-
pil over 10 years of age can compre-
hend the subject and with the use
f the instruments and tools that
will be furnished him, he will i '
able to get a practical knowle !
carpenter and other mathematical
work that will be of benefit to him
in after life. It would be impo !-
ble for us to attempt a correc t -
nopsis of the scope of the work in
this article, but we are fully con-
vin • 1 that it is a good thing and
will be endorsed by the leading ed-
ucators everywhere. The Territo-
rial Board of Education after hav-
toiing thoroughly examined and in*
or vestigated the subject have decid d
