in the state.
There being nothing pertain about tho a\;rl<i-
bility of Ferris, the industrious persons looking
for a candidate cast about f >r others. They Imo
alighted upon several, including Judqo Tom
Owen of Muskogee, Speaker Paul Nsebitt of the
house of representatives, Congressman William
H. Murray and others. Frank M. Gault of the
state board of agriculture and E. B. How-rd,
state auditor incidentally have been mentionet1
The "mention" has included Fx-Oovernoi
Crdct. and in one desperate moment it sir" esteo
that Governor Williams himself would resign a
few weeks before his term expired so that he
might legally become a candidate for a second
term.
It has been said that in the matter of the next
rare for governor it is the field against Robert-
son. Apparently it was the intention of the per-
soi* or persons managing the field to bring out a
new candidate each week, but that figure has not
been maintained.
Judge Robertson has not announced that he
v. ill jvra'n be a candidate for governor, but demo-
crat* all over the state a<r at work for him now,
, n t ie ground that bo has earned the nomina-
tion by his clean ami admirable course in the
last campaign by the fact that he is the most
available man and in addition because a large
ma >rity of democrats want him.
fOobody is disputing the right of other candi-

the >i :ht of political manipulators to get them
