AOTS LEJ1ITE Oil LIVER
I Guarantee "Dodson's Liver Tone" Will Give You the Best Liver
and Bowel Cleansing You Ever Had—Doesn't Make You Sickl
Democratic Wisdom Shown in Its
Adoption.
Stop using calomel! It makes you
sick. Don't lose a day's work. If you
feel lazy, sluggish, bilious or const!-
pated, listen to me!
Calomel is mercury or quicksilver
which causes necrosis of the bones.
Calomel, when it comes into contact
with sour bile, crashes into it. breaking
it up. This is when you feel that aw-
ful nausea and cramping. If you feel
all knocked out," if your liver is tor-
pid and bowels constipated or you
have headache, dizziness, coated
tongue, if breath Is bad or stomach
sour just try a spoonful of harmless
Dodson's Liver Tone.
* Here's my guarantee—Go to any
drug store or dealer and get a 50-cent
bottle of Dodson's Liver Tone. Take a
spoonful and if It doesn't straightea j
you right up and make you feel tin« [
and vigorous 1 want you to go back to
the store and get your, money. Dod-
son's Liver Tone is destroying the
sale of calomel because it is real liver
medicine; entirely vegetable, therefore
it cannot salivate or make you sick.
I guarantee that one spoonful of
Dodson'B Liver Tone will put your
sluggish liver to work and clean your
bowels of that sour bile and consti-
pated waste which is clogging your
system and making you feel miserable.
I guarantee that a bottle of Dodson's
I.iver Tone will keep your entire fam-
ily feeling fine for months. Give it to
your children. It is harmless; doesn't
gripe and they like its pleasant taste.

Having taken the greed and graft
| out of the tariff, the Democratic party
\ In its platform naturally oiuits the
fierce denunciation of custom-house
! taxation for the enrichment of private
Interests which long churncterized its
utterances on this subject. Some peo-
ple will miss also the proposition that
congress has no constitutional power
to impose tariffs except for retenue,
and the familiar words "a tariff for
revenue only" are not used, though
, the sentiment Is there In general terms.
Tariff planks in both parties vary
greatly from time to time. High-tariff
Republicans have not always pro-
j claimed and glorified extortion us in
the days of Hanna and McKinley.
J Only on a few occasions have low-
! tariff Democrats accepted without
qualification the radical theory that
because protection was likely to be
abused the principle must be de-
nounced and abandoned. The fact is
i that Democrats as well as Republicans
when in power have always recognized
the propriety of safeguarding Amer-
, lean enterprise and industry.
What mtikes this year's Democratic
tariff plank noteworthy Is its candid j
recognition, by indorsement of a non- i
partisan tariff commission, of the I
j legitimate business aspects of tariff j
taxation as applied to foreign competl- j
tion In manufactures and trade. Uiv-
! ing congress accurate Information and
expert advice, such a body should
prove as discouraging to the extrem-

would turn them into robbers' roosts.—

The Wheat Yields
Tells the Story
of Western Canada's Rapid Progress
The heavy crops in Western Canada have caused
new records to be made in the handling of grains
by railroads. For, while the movement of these
heavy shipments has been wonderfully rapid, the
resources of the different roads, despite enlarged
equipments and increased facilities, have been
strained as never before, and previous records
have thus been broken in all directions.
The largest Canadian wheat shipments through New York ever known
are reported for the period up to October 15th, upwards of lour and a
quarter million bushels being exported in less than six weeks,
and this was but the overflow of shipments to Montreal, through which
point shipments were much larger than to New York.
Yields as high as 60 bushels of wheat per acre are reported from all
parts of the country; while yields of 45 bushels per acre are common.
Thousands of American farmers have taken part in this wonderful pro-
duction. Land prices are still low and free homestead lands are easily secured
in good localities, convenient to churches, schools, markets, railways, etc.
There Is no war fax on land and no conscription.
Write for illustrated pamphlet, reduced railroad rates and other
information to Superintendent Immigration, Ottawa.

Canadian Government Agent
Mr. Schiff on the Tariff.
Former Governor Glynn is to be
congratulated for resurrecting the
speech of Jacob II. Schiff at the ban-
quet of the Republican club last Jan-
uary. Speaking of the tarilT, Mr.
Schiff said:
"I want to explain that nothing can
stop the great prosperity we now have
except a renewal of tariff agitation 1
in the next campaign. Standing here
011 holy Republican ground, I say to 1
you, without fear or favor, if you renew j
in the next presidential campaign the 1
tariff agitation of the past, if you j
threaten the country and show It you j
want u renewal of special privilege j
and high protection, the people will I
have none of it. The people have
learned; the workmen and the farmers j
have learned, and they cannot be mis-
led any longer. I do not say that be- '
cause 1 love the Republican party less,
but because I love it more. My heart
Is fi.r the Republican party, but my !
common sense makes me a Democrat." <
It is well to recall these frank words
which the Republican leaders have re-
jected. They have done just what
Schiff warned them not to do; they j
have renewed their old demand for j
special privilege and high protection, ;
and they are going to meet the defeat :
which one of their own wisest men
predicted for them six months ago.
