IMPROVED GEARY
deary will soon have passed a year
of incorporated existence. In Its pass-
ing we have heard a few criticisms in
regard to the wisdom of Incorporation.
On the other hand, the compliments
passed upon the bettered Condition of
our city, by reason of incorporat ion,
have outnumbered adverse criticism
twenty to one, especially as relates to
the improvements In streets and side-
walks. It is certainly a relief to all to
be able to walk the business streets
without having to clamber up and
down in front of every other house,
or to drive through the streets and
around the corners without danger of
being overturned.
Of course we do not claim to have
arrived at anythihg near perfection
in our street work. This work could
be improved by placing the dirt with
a view to proper grading. But not-
withstanding all imperfections, our
sidewalks and streets are in far better
condition

now under construction and will be
completed in about two weeks. These
gentlemen are all well pleased with
the outlook for Geary—as everyone is
who crimes here.
This is practically the first wholesale
house, exclusively, that has come to
Geary and we predict for them success.
Wc prophesy; however, that it will not
be a great while before we will be the
wholesale house and jobbing point for
western Oklahoma.
And by March 15 we will
occupy our new building,
one door west, and we will
be better prepared to care
for the wants of our many
patrons.
The Erick Enterprise reaches us this
week. It is a neat paper printed at
the new town of Ereck on the Choc-
taw in Greer county. The Enterprise
is a 6-column, 8-page paper, and is
neat, newsy and well patronized.

Two gentlemen are in Gearv this
week for the purpose of opening up a
first class restaurant. They have pur-
chased the building now occupied by
the Manila cafe, and will begin busi-
ness as soon as they can get possession.
It is really surprising the number of
people coming to Geary. They come
in blocks of tens and twenties every
day. Nearly all seem to have plenty
of money, and come here for the pur-
pose of investing it in town property,
stocks of goods or farms adjacent.
Well, they make no mistake when
they come to Geary, for this is the

THE CELEBRATED
We have secured the services of:
Messrs. A. O. Jennings and H. M.
Dulin to assist us in getting out an
illustrated edition of the Geary Bul-
letin .
These gentlemen just completed an
edition of the Elk City Democrat, re-
ferred to in our last issue as being one
of the best of its kind we ever saw,
and we feel very fortunate in securing
their services in this important work,
which we trust will receive the hearty
support of every business firm in
Geary.
We will spare neither time nor ex-
pense to make it complete in every
detail. Messrs. Jennings & Dulin will
be here jn about ten days to begin
this work.
C. H. Thompson, U. S. Marshal for
Oklahoma, came in Monday noon to
serve some court summonses and at-
tend to Rock Island right of way bus-
iness.
We have just received a large invoice
of these celebrated shoes. They are,
without doubt the neatest and best
made shoes on the market.
