Folks wondered why the kaiser
didn't over run Holland while he was
in the business, but we understand
it now. He wanted a safe place to
cootie when the deluge came.
November 3rd,the citizens ofNancy,
many surrendered, now becomes one
of the most momentous dates in his-
tory. The United States and the En-
tente Allies will celebrate it hereafter
as a second Fourth of July. On that
date the great western republic paid
the debt that it has owed LaFayette
and France ever since the victory at
.Vorktown.
On November*3rd, the citizen* of
Nancy, France^ dedicated a monu-
at Bathelemont^ to the first Ameri-
can soldiers who fell in action there
a year before, *while fighting under
the American Flag. The names of our
first martyrs tn fall while fighting
under our Flag-In France are Corpl.
James B. Gresham, Evansville, Ind,;
Thomas F. Enright, Pittsburgh. Pa-1
and Merle D. Hay, Glidden, Iowa.
“In my thirty years of active prac-
tice as a licensed physician, I have
never seen anything to equal Tanlac
as a medicine to produce results."
says I)r. J. T. Edwards of Fayetteville
Georgia.
“People on all sides are telling of
the benefits they have derived from
its use,” he continued, “and 1 am pre-
scribing it for my patients almost
every day. Just a litle while ago a
well known woman of Fayetteville
told me that her daughter had been
confined to her bed three years with
what had been called pellagra, and
that after using Tanlac a short time
she was up and well on the road to
recovery. Seldom a day passes that
someone does not tell me something
of the good results they are get-
ting from Tanlac.
• ’‘Some of the most prominent peo-
ple have reported unusual gains in
weight, and I have treated some stub-
born cases of indigestion, catarrhal
troublie and organic disorder with
J'gnlac, and secured splendid results.’’
Tanlac is sold in Alva by J. W.
Monfort and by leading druggist
everywhere.. adv.

WHAT THEY SAY
It may be hard to tell who is lead-
ing the German armies, but we all
know who is rimiffcig them.—St.Louis

Big Bill Hohenzolern now realizes
more clearly than ever what a mis-
take he made when he picked on
quiet, peaceable Woodrow \\ ilson.—

Seems as if the government ought
to take over the entire supply of one
or two of these patent medicines.
If they are up to their advertising
