What They Missed.
We can't help thinking what a good
time Nero and some of the old school
tyrants could have had with some of
our modern appliances as playthings.
With an nutomoblle to turn their
loving subjects Into pancakes they
could have enjoyed so thoroughly their
moruiiig fci '.u, and such a* were left
they could have taken up the elevator
to the top of a skyscraper and thrown
them off to the pavement below.
Life could have been one endless
round of pleasure for them, but It Is
with the live wire they could have had
the most fun.
A merry monarch might have had the
chairs for his cabinet connected with
a dynamo, and when they were all
pleasantly seated about he could have
touched a button and given them a
neat little shook. If by chance he
turned on too strong a current and
killed all of them it would have been
easy enough by a stroke of the pen to
have made a new cabinet.
