Patrol Searches State Officer.
Early this morning, State Labor
Commissioner Charles F. Daugherty
left the state house, suit case in hand,
to take a south bound Santa Pe train
to Oklahoma City. At the bottom of
the capitol steps he was accosted by
an officer who took the traveling case,
opened it and perused the contents,
examining everything that appeared
to be of an official nature. Daugherty
was then permitted to proceed.
The action of Guthrie officers in de-

Guthrie Charges Steal.
That a steal was planned by Okla-

ensure a favorable result on the state
captal bill, whatever the adverse re-
turns might be from northern Okla-

campaign committee when the official
returns began to be certified by county
election boards and it was noticed that
southern counties were held back for
unexplained causes.
The Guthrie campaign committee
had its confidence restored, to a great
extent, by news that the official count,
with only seven counties out, showed a
majority of only 800 for the bill, their
efforls were redoubled, to secure fig-
