ITS THE FARMER’S BUSI-
NESS.
The farmer may not feel that
he individually is called upon
with his money and his services
to protect the American flag
on the high seas but just wait
until the war is over when it
may become a question of whose
wheat and whose corn and
whose cotton are shipped to for-
eign ports for higher prices and
it will be another matter. But
the latest Liberty Loan and Red
Cross campaigns demonstrated
that the farmer is rapidly
coming alive to his personal re
sponsibility in the national
crisis.
If some of the busy citizens
who have too much to do to
serve on draft boards without
pay when it involves no genuine
sacrifice could get a line on
what becomes of Belgian busi-
ness men in German-seized ter-
ritory they would make it a
point to squeeze in a few spare
hours for Uncle Sam.
The skilled mechanic who of-
fers his services at aviation and
shipbuilding plants today is lit-
tle less a patriot than the boy
who will carry his gun to the
trenches.
The offer of a set of kitchen-
ware FREE to every purchaser
of a MAJESTIC during demon-
stration week is genuine. It is
an out-and-out gift to every pur-
chaser of a MAJESTIC range
and the price of this range with
a reputation remains the same.

the week commencing January

It ain’t worth while to fret, Bo,
O’er prospects that have fled,
Its better to forget, Bo,
An’ strive for what’s ahead.
Just grip life’s helm the tighter,
An’ just keep movin’ on,
Till harbor lights gleam brighter
Across the new year dawn.
Then here’s my hand to you, Bo,
Let’s shake as man to man;
I ve supped with failure, too, Bo,
I’m just an “also ran.”
But when the friends that love me
Shall lay me down to rest,
I trust they’ll write above me,
“He also ran his best."
