Died at lier home near West-
ville March 8 1908 of typhoid
Johnnie Hambrick She leaves
a father mother three brothers
and many friends to mourn
their loss
It woujd require many good
words to describe her worthy
characteristics and many tender
words to express our sympathy
for those who are most sorely
bereaved especially the faithful
parents and brothers We
would say weep not for her to-
day she is walking the golden
paved streets of Him who said
“It is enough come up higher
Johnnie was a Christian and a
member of the Baptist church
She was ever ready to sav some
kind word or do some kind act
to brighten the pathway of her
Associates She often said she
was going to make a missionery
Johnnie had been attending
school all fall and winter at Hern
and during her suffering would
often ask about her teacher
books and schoolmates
would say to her bereaved school
mates — may the grace of her
God be sufficient fon fis and may
we follow in her footsteps
“Blessed are they that 'die in
the Lord”
Johnnie was the only daught-
er of Mr and Mrs J R Ham-
brick age about 14 she was
laid to rest in the Baptist Mis-
sion cemetary Her ieacher

laid to rest in the Baptist ceme-

Days to Receive Applications of
Cherolcees for Allotment
According to a circular sent
out last week by the commis-
sioner of the Cherokee Land
office the office will be located
here the afternoon of Wednes-
day aslo on Thursday Friday
and Saturday April 22 to 25'in-
clusive for the purpose of receiv-
ed applications to select allot-
ments in the Cherokee nation
During these appoinments
applicants will not be required
to 'personally inspect the land
applied for but no application
will be received for land on
which this office has information
mprovements belonging to
citizens entitled to land in allot-
ment are located Ia such cases
applicants will be required to
personally inspect the land in
order to be in a position to testify
as to the improvements on the
land and ownership thereof
When necessary in order to
complete a selection but not
otherwise a ten acre tract of
which the appraised value is not
less than $200 per acre may be
further sub-divided into two
tracts of five acres each
Citizens who are the owners of
bona fide improvements on land
they are entitled to select should
appear at this office at once in
orber to avoid tne possibility of
their land being filed on by
other persons
Citizens are warned that
notwithstanding the rule requir-
ing an inspection of the land will
be waived it will be to their in
terest to know the land they
select as the application1 will be
final and the office not disposer
to approve an application to re
linquish such a selection
Should the number of applicants
who present themselves on these
appointments be greater than
can be handled bv the availaple
force admission will first be
had upon the tickets heretofore
issued or which may be procured
upon application to this Office
During the time covered by these
appointments the Cherokee
Office at Muskogee will be closed
to applications to select allot-
ments except that all applica-
tions to institute Contests must
be filed at this office
