Westville Is the Proper Place
There is only one spot within
the boundaries of Adair county
that will make an ideal building
for a city and is the land now
occupied by Westville and the
surrounding country
It is a high dry rolling plateau
— therefore healthy — with a
beautiful atmosphere and agree-
able climate
The county seat of a county
should have all these and more
e
It must have the railroad facili-
ties in order that those living
along the outer edgs of the coun-
ty and too far away to drive in
may be able to reach the seat of
'government with the least posi-
ble delay to transact their- busi-
ness and return home
Westville is the only town in
the county that can offer such
an inducement therefore it is
imperative if the question of a
county seat location is ever given
to the people to be decided your
vote should be cast for Westville
If you live in the soutn end of
the county you can reach here
transact your business and re-
turn home the same day if you
wish to If you live in the west
north or east portion it is the
same There 'will be no' delay
i
in returning when you are in a
hurry and anxious to get back to
your work or business
Should the county seat be lo
cated at Stilwell for which we
understand they are working it
will not benefit the farmers of
the south part of the coun y
much more than it would if lo
cated here as they would neces-
sarily have to take a day to
transact their business while
for many of the citizens in this
county it would be absolutely
necessary for them to take a
train in here spend several
hours waiting and go on to Stil-
well that night transact their
business the next day and re-
turning here in the evening lay
ovei (ihtil the next day before
returning boilH’—thu causing
them to lost frolli two to three
days every lime they have any
business in the county seat
which is certain to be several
times a year
In justice to the largest num-
ber of Adair county’s people the
county seat should never be
moved from Westville but when-
ever a vote is taken on the prop-
osition it should be so over-
whelmingly in our favor as to
forever make this city the per-
manent capitol of the county
Whenever you are called upon
to vote tor this proposition be
sure to see that your ballot reads
“For Westville yes”
The postmaster general
explains that if the parcels post
systems were to be established
on the 38000 rural routes
throughout the country the en-
tire postal deficit which in 1907
amounted to $6600000 would
be wiped out lie claims that
the runl parcels post will benefit
the farmer immensely and give
the country storekeeper a great
advantage over the mail order
bouse but to the small merchant
and many others it looks like a
graft for the big department
stores

cratic county commissioners

Republican ticket and if be is

ceiving e5S5SS5S99
There is no place in the
county that will make as good
a location for the county seat
as Westville Please bear this
in mind and when opportunity
offers say a good word to your
friends and neighbors
Just prior to the last national
election Judge Parker was the
most human sphinx on earth
Now it seems that he is likely
to develop into the greatest
human phonograph
We frequently hear of the man
that wets his 'whistle and toots
his horn We never hear how-
ever of the way he blows his
coin

It has been discovered that
in Baltimore Md rose bushes
y ’
have been found in bud and ready
to bloom It is safe to say that
the roses are not political roses
as in most cases they seem to
be destined to appear to bloom
and blush unseen
The Department of Justice
has issued a statement explain-
ingtbe expense of recent govern-
ment land fraud cases ‘ If every

Prof H A Howell of Havana
Cuba Recommends Cham-
erlain’s Cough Remedy
‘‘As long ago as I can remem-
ber my mother was a faithful
user and friend of Chamberlain's
Cough Remedy but never in my
life have I realized its true value
until now” writes Prof H A
Howell of Howell's American
School Havana Cuba “On
the night of February 3rd our
baby was taken sick with a very
severe cold the next day was
worse and the following night
his condition was desperate He
could not lie down and it was
necessary to have him in the
arms every moment Even then
his breathing was difficult I
did not think he would live until
morning At last I thought of
my mother’s remedy Chamber-
lain’s Cough Remedy which we
gave and it afforded prompt
reliel and now three days later
he has fully recovered Under
the circumstances I would not
hesitate a moment in saying that
Chamberlain s Cough Remedy
and that only saved the life of
our dear little boy” For sale
