Other Resources from the OHS Research Center

The Oklahoma Historical Society (OHS) archives include materials in a variety of formats, dating from pre-statehood to the present. Some of the resources listed below are available online. Others may be viewed in person at the Oklahoma History Center, or you may submit an order to purchase copies of materials.

  • The Newspaper Archives include Oklahoma newspapers on microfilm dating from the 1840s to the present. Patrons can view the microfilm at the Oklahoma History Center or contact the OHS to order copies.

  • Photograph Archives - holdings consist of over 9 million photos; many images are included in the OHS online catalog.

  • Map Archives - included are maps of Oklahoma Territory, Indian Territory, and the state of Oklahoma. Some digitized files are available in the online catalog.

  • Manuscript Archives - find out about the paper documents, records, correspondence, and other items from the archives by searching the online catalog. Patrons can view manuscript materials in person, or contact us to order copies.

  • Books and Periodicals - more than 85,000 bound volumes are available at the Oklahoma History Center. Search the online catalog to find out more.

  • Audio and Oral History Archives - audio and oral history interviews are listed in the online catalog, and many are available on YouTube.

  • Film and Video Archives - search the online catalog to learn about our film holdings. Many historic films from the collection are available on YouTube.

  • Genealogical Information - valuable resources can be found on the OHS website. Indexes for select obituaries, marriages, divorces, probates, the 1890 Oklahoma Territorial Census, the Dawes Final Roll, and more are available to search online.
