In this issue J. S. Davison an-
nounces his candidacy lor the Dem-
ocratic nomination of t'ity Mar-
shal. Mr. Davison is well known
to the citizens of Norman, having
lived here since May 10th follow-
ing the opening. His democracy is
unquestioned, and his qualitica
ti oil 8 established by reason of his
faithfulness as night watch. Dem-
ocratic voters of the city should
give Mr. Davison's candidacy
careful consideration.
While Oklahoma City and Guth-
rie are striving to become railroad
centres, the (act should not lie
overlooked, the Territorial Univer-
sity and the Insane asylum are lo
cateil in Norman, making this city
the educational as well as the non
compos mentis seat of the lerri-
tory.
While the defeat of the free
homes hill is very disappointing to
Oklahoma people, they know who
is responsible, and Flynn and his
crowd will lie relegated to back
seats in the political gallery of ler-
ritorial politics.
It is neck and neck between Ok-
lahoma City and Guthrie, t'ity
authorities of each place are very
likely to be indicted for licensing
