The entertainment given lust nig it
at Schmidt's hall for the benefit of
the UaptiHt church was very well at-
tended and one of the best*perform-
ances ever given in this city was the
result and outcome of what the pro-
grMB vetj properly denominate ■
homes talent when Tiik Times states
that it was pre-eminently a masterly
performance, wherein every charac-
ter thoroughly; ex-cmplifted his and
her role, it by no means exaggerates
er overstates the fact.
J. T. Stockton as David Murry,
keeper of Fair Point li^bt, was ad-
mirable. His portrayal of the char-
acter was exceptionally good and the
professional has yet to come to Perry
who will excel this very excellent
actor. His rendition of the role of
lJavid Murry well deserved the ap-
preciative applause ho generously
given to it.
Arthur Wborton as Larry Divine,
was wonderously good and the quick-

Miss Minnie Cutler, as Miss Minnie

Her rendition of the character she

effective.
Bess Starbright, "Cast Up by the

was one of the most winning roles on

Miss Jennie Anderson, as "Mother

excellent and Miss Molly Reed, be-

Councilmen Hertz stated when the
matter of sprinklers came up, that
the franchise be declared null and
void. Councilman Davis held that
the franchise be continued. Council-
man Levy suggested that the matter
be left for the consideration of the
city attorney. Councilman Mentz ad-
vocated the annulment of the fran-
chise and wished a delay of a day two
before final action was taken. Hertz
slated the men owning the franchise
had not complied with their contract,
and denied the right of the parties
who received the franchise from the
council, to transfer it. The whole
