A SOCIAL SUCCESS.
The Knights of Pythias "At Home" to
Their Friends.—Sixty Couples
Royally Entertained.
The K. of P. Castle Hall, on the
third floor of the Ilex hotel, was a 1
scene of festive gayety last night, j
when over a hundred of the select
ladies and gentlemen of the city j
gathered to celebrate the lirst anni-!
versary of the organization of Enid I
Lodge No. 10, Knights of Pythias.
The program rendered, which op-
ened with one verse of "America"
and invocation by Rev. Griffin, was
| of a high order and was listened to
with much interest and appreciation.
The Misses Edna McKenzie and Maud
Murphy delivered declamations, and
we can safely say that there has
been nothing in the elocution line
rendered in the city for some time
that so delighted an audience as did
these two recitations. Both the
young ladies are elocutionists of rare
ability. The musical part of the
program was carried out by: Miss
Louie Lee and Prof. Jecko, Enid's I
favorite pianoists, in a duet, which |
was excellent, as their selections
always are. two selections from the
quartet of harmoniously blending
voices, owned and controlled by
Messrs. McClane, Hoover, Crawford
and Coughenour, which met with the
usual appreciation and applause; an
intrumental solo by Prof. Jecko, quite
classic, but a beautiful composition:
a vocal solo by F. M McClane, whose
superior voice is far-famed in the
music loving circle of Enid.
At the completion of the program
each lady in the hall was presented
with a souvenir, consisting of a small

A few days ago the Wave was in-
formed that Mr. (ieorge Graham and

j lor councilmen for the 5th ward by a
citizen's convention in Jonesville but
on investigation we failed to find
that any such meeting had been held
; hut that at a meeting of the citizens
I held Saturday night March lti. Pal-

nominated, hence, they are the regu-
lar citizens' nominees. It seems that
; Messrs. Graham and Light were pe-
i titioned to become candidates by
| some of the citizens of Jonesville and
i will probably appear on the ticket by
i petition. Now the Wave started
j out to support the citizen's ticket re-
. oaidless of its politics or personal
; teelings and if Graham and Light
: had received the nomination from a
j regularly organized meeting of the
j citizens of the 5th ward, this paper
i would have gladly placed their
| names on the ticket as they are both
| good citizens. From thorough inves-

j Milliard are the regular citizen's
j nominees and as such we iavor their
election, both being good ousiness

The office of Champion & George is
the finest anil most comfortable yet

A Remarkable Coincidence.
Late last night Doctors George
and Champion, who are partners,
were sitting in their office; two men
knocked at the door almost within
the same moment. They were In hot
haste after the doctors for the same
cause. Both live seven miles south-
west, just across the road from one
another; neither knew that the other
was out after a doctor until they
met in the doctors' office. The doc-
tors had just come In and their horses
were tired, so they hired a livery
team, drove the seven miles, attend-
ed to their duties and were back in
the city in three and one-half hours
from the time they started.
Now conies the strangest coinci-
| dence of all. A boy was born to
] Mrs. P. Colman and a daughter to
Mrs. C. L. Vandorn, not two minutes
apart. Dr. George was with the boy,
and Dr. Champion with the girl.
