Alkali Spots in Field

Description: Photograph of Henry Kedding standing on an alkali spot after 2 tons of gypsum was applied to field in 1956. Directly behind Kedding, are several buildings and structures, which include houses, barns, and silos. The back of the photograph proclaims, “Alkali spot after 2 tons of Gypsum was applied in 1956. Blue Stem Mixture with Blue Grama

Description: Photograph of native grass planting made in the spring of 1958. Grass consisted of a bluestem mixture with heavy addition of blue grama and some buffalo. It was shredded in June to control weeds and Johnson grass growth. This is a good stand of grass but the Johnson grass competition is heavy.

Brush Control

Description: Photograph of oak and blackjack timber sprayed in the spring of 1957. The kill looks fair but will need retreatment. The grass growth is good in the sprayed area and has been deferred from grazing. The brush was sprayed by airplane with 2-4-5-T and land owner was assisted under the ACP program.
