Fort Smith & Western (FSW) #4

Description: A photograph print showing Fort Smith & Western (FSW) #4, 4-4-0, "on Train No. 1, at M-K-T depot in Oklahoma City, just arrived from Fort Smith, Ark. 2 cars, an RPO-express and a coach leased from Mo. Pacific. This train replaced a mixed train that operated for about 7 years previously. These passenger trains ran for only a few months in summer and fall of 1938. Their cost helped shove the road over the brink of insolvency. The FS&W quit operations in Jan. 1939."
