Description: Photograph of Washita watershed, damage to front slope of Site 26 Wildhorse Creek Watershed. Dam runs almost due east and west. Part of slope was rip-rapped with rock from spillway but rock lacked about 6 feet being high enough to prevent this damage. SCS plans to repair this damage.

Brewer's ranch that was plowed and then blown out during the thirties, before Brewer owned the land. Cane will be planted left to grow until blowing area is stablized enough to plant grass. Will take from five to ten years. Left to right is Edward Brewer, his son, Glenn Brewer and John Bailey, Work Unit Conservationist [WUC] and the Soil Conservation Service [SCS], Guymon, Oklahoma. Description: Photograph of Nolan Denton, WUC, discusses soil management program with Fred Metzger for Soil Unit 8H BO, Class I. Early hybrid corn following soybeans for seed. Rotation includes alfalfa, corn, soybeans, cotton, wheat and vetch. It looked like up to a 50 to 60 bushel yield at hard roasting ear stage after a very dry season. Metzger is a strong believer in soil improving crops. OK-70-9.

Large plants of little bluestem, Indiangrass, switchgrass, and big bluestem made seed in fall of 1957. Small grass plants are seedlings of above grasses.
