Inundation Studies

Description: Photograph of water impounding plot (one of six) constructed by ARS-SWC to study inundation tolerance fo 24 selected species of plants associated with water shed treatment (floodwater retarding structures). Water will be 5 feet deep at lower end of plot with controlled periods of inundation. Common Switchgrass, lowland switchgrass and Midland Bermudagrass. Work is under supervision of E.D. Rhoades, Agricutural Engineer, ARS-SWC. Project in response to SCS research needs.
