Successful Drainage of Wet Areas

Southwestern Bell Telephone Company Telephone Cable across Site 16 Wildhorse Creek

Description: Photograph of three UNIDENTIFED Southwestern Bell Telephone Company employees laying a cable across Site 16 Wildhorse Creek. The back of the photograph proclaims, “Southwestern Bell Telephone Company laying a telephone cable across Site 16 Wildhorse Creek. Cable is layed [sic] to about 36” deep but was raised to about 12” deep to cross the dam and forebay of the spillway. Being able to cross this structure saved the company several thousand dollars by being able to take this short cut.”

Wrecked Crop Spraying Plane

Description: Photograph of eight UNIDENTIFED people at the site of a wrecked crop-spraying plane after it hit a REA line when spraying crops with parathion. A US Army helicopter is on the left side of the photograph. The back of the photograph proclaims, “Crop spraying plane failed to see REA line while spraying wheat with Parathion. Army Helicopter from Ft. Sill saw crash, picked pilot up, gave first aid and took him to the station hospital at Ft. Sill. Pilot not seriously injured.”
