Grass, Legume and Forb Cultivation

Description: Photograph of pasture with excellent native grass. Approximately 200 acres of grass and timber was destroyed before this fire was brought under control. Stephens County Civil Defense fire fighting units assisted in extinguishing the fire. The fire was started by a careless farmer who was burning a fire break 1/4 mile south of this field. OK-1283-4.

Description: Photograph of T. L. Davis using a tractor to shred 13-year-old lovegrass. The back of the photograph proclaims, "T. L. Davis shredding 13 year old lovegrass. Mr. Tims fertilizes in February with 100 lbs. of 16-20-0 fertilizer per acre and shreds the lovegrass in March. This makes the lovegrass more palatable to livestock.
