Boggy Flats

Description: Photograph looking north of junction in road to Cut-throat Cap and Sugar Creek Spring. During drought period of 1953-56 this area was dominated by short grasses. Note the present vegetation containing a high percentage of little bluestem resulting from good management coupled with favorable climatic period. Taken during annual Soil Conservation Service cooperative grazing use check.

Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge

Description: Photographic follow-up of OK-941-12. Grass gauge on ridge top at the west end of Mt. Scott pasture. This is located 1/4 mile north of the scenic highway. Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge

Description: Photographic follow-up of OK-1105-7. Fullingim Flat in Mt. Pinchot Pasture. This area is principally hardland range site. Vegetation during the 1940's and early 1950's was dominated by short grasses. Buffalo is concentrated in this locality. Management adjustments, including changes in salt location and mesquite control, have resulted in range improvements shown on return of miscellaneous grasses and moderate use.
