Description: Photograph of a native grass planting. Native grass planting made on conservation reserve land. It was seeded in the spring of 1957 and was sprayed in the spring of 1958 for weed control. This area is now almost completely free of any weeds. OK-639-5.

Description: Photograph of Lee R. Carlton, work Unit Conservationist [WUC], Talihina, examining a field of lovegrass (erogratis curvula) and Sericea lespedeza. The mixture was planted on April 19, 1955 and fertilized with 100 pounds of 10-20-10 and 200 pounds of 0-20-0 fertilizers. Mowed on June 10, 1955 at 15 bales per acre. Potato Hill, 6 d, drouthy soil. This is an introductory planting of weeping lovegrass in this area. It looks promising. OK-72-10.
