Description: Photograph of a field ready for planting and trip crops. The even width strips are to b planted to tcorn and cotton, one strip planted to corn and the next to Cotton. The variable width strips are now planted to a winter cover crop of wheat which will be plowed under and planted to sowed cane as a close growing erosion resistant crop.

Description: Photograph of planting oats on the coutour in a terraced field with a deep furrow drill. The first time though the field one end of the drill followed the ridge line of the terrace. Thw other end in the bottom of the water channel. Second time through one end of the drill is still inthe water channel.

Description: Photograph of the ranch house--the Dog Iron Ranch--of the Will Rogers' estate [the"White House on the Verdigris River"--in the 1960s moved near the Oolagah Resevoir]. The house was built in 1875 by Will Rogers' father and is the house in which Will was born and raised. The ranch is now being managed by a near relative of Will Rogers who has been a cattleman all his life.

Description: Photograph of pasture management. This 20 acre field (old pasture) was planted to corn and sodded to Bermuda grass last spring. Bermuda grass has now covered the field and is a perfect stand over the entire area. 38 steers were brought into the pasture after the corn was harvested. Description: Photograph of eight cattle grazing on buffalograss from ridges in a contour ridged pasture. The back of the photograph proclaims, "Cattle grazing buffalo grass from ridges in a contour ridged pasture. This pasture was contour ridged and spot sodded to buffalo grass in the spring of 1936. Notice the cattle's apparent preference for the new grass on the ridges."
