Photograph used for a story in the Daily Oklahoman newspaper. Caption: "Just as black clouds on the horizon warn of an approaching storm, so do those steaming mudhogs, a dozen blocks away, warn of an approaching tide of derricks that threatens to engulf these attractive west side homes. C. J. Jaho, staff photographer, capture this ominous view Wednesday from the 500 block Hill street, just west of Walker avenue. The newest extension plea of the oil interests, to be voted on March 24, would bring the derricks to the Santa Fe tracks, just five block from these residences. In the full page advertisment urging the extension a year ago, the oil interests cried "deception" in reply to the warning that extension would begin a march of derricks across the city. They claimed then that geologists had defined the oil pool and that it ended at the Santa Fe tracks. But already an extension petition being drawn for submission to the city council for a drilling zone which would hurdle the tracks to Robinson avenue, from Northwest Siteenth street to Thirty-sixth street - three blocks from the homes shown in the foreground. Can it be that the oil intresets want to drill where they said, in asking for a drifferent extension a year ago, there is no oil?"
