FRENCH TO INSIST
ON FULL PAYMENT
Paris, Sept. 11.—The French of-
ficial calm in the face of the vital
certainty of German bankruptcy and
consequent non-payment of I he in-
demnity was explained Saturday.
It was revealed in diplomatic
quarters that France intends to
make the bankruptcy of Germany
the excuse for seizure of the Ruhr
and the other producing German
territories.
While official confirmation
lacking, it is stated on thev highest
authority that France is resolved to
give her army the order to march
the moment Germany fails to meet

UNEMPLOYMENT CONFER-
ENCE lO BE HKuO «Ol N
"Too Much Kowtowing by Unions
And Talk By Administration,"
Official Declares.
WASHINGTON, Sept. 12.—Daniel
J. Tobin, president of the Interna-
tional brotherhood of teamsters, has
resigned as treasurer and member
of the executive council of the Am-
erican federation of labor and bis
resignation will be accepted by Hie
executive council at a meeting Nov-
ember 14, according to the current
issue of Labor, a weekley railway
union paper.
Disagreement with President
Gompers as to representation at the
fartji coming unemployment con-
ference was the cause of the resig-
nation the article says.
Too Much Talk.
The incident which led to robin's
resignation, the article si>ys, oc-
curred at Atlantic City when Gom-
pers suggested that if he were in-
vited to attend the Harding unem-
ployment conference he go a.- an
authorized representative of the fed-
eration. Mr. Tobin is quoted as
having declared that he was not in
favor of more talk.
"We are suffering from too much
talk in Washington," Mr. Tobin is
quoted. "What the unemployed
want is work, not more talk. There
has been too much running to see
Secretary of Labor Davis, too much
1 kowtowing to an administration
I that is unfriendly to labor In my
| opinion the sooner labor officials
quit catering to the administration,
the better it will be for everybody."
When Tobin's motion was de-
feated he left the meeting.
A PRONOUNCED SUCCESS.
McAlester, Okla., Sept. 11.—For-
mer Gov. g. n. Haskell in accepting
on invitation to deliver an address
here on the night of September 24
which is the last day of the Pitts-
burg county free fair, stipulated
that the meeting should be strictly
non-partisan.
The day has been designated as
"Haskell Day" of the fair and set
aside to honor the visit of Okla-
homa's first governor.
The uniform success that has at-
tended the use of Chamberlain's Col-
ic and Diarrhoea Remedy in the relief
and cure of bowel complaints, both
| for children and adults, has brought
it into almost universal use, so that
it is practically without a rival and
as everyone who has used it knows,
it is without an equal.
Mrs. J. L. Johnson, seamstress at
Mayer's, has returned to her work
after a few weeks' vacation.
