Tom Breeze purchased a new
Ford touring car last week.
Mf. 0. L. Lusk and wife of
Mexia, Texas, have been visiting
with his parents, Mr. and Mrs-
D. H. Lusk for several days.
Mr. E. M. Doughty was in
town Wednesday and purchased
a new Ford roadster of Mr. J. P.
Fritch.
Mr. and Mrs. B. D. Griggs are
visiting with some of their child
ren at Wellington, Texas, this
week.

solidated district No. 3, were all
over at Oklahoma City last
week looking after business
matters pertaining to the dis
trict.
D. H. Lusk Sells Out
Judson Gamblin drove over to
Amarillo last week after a truck
load of household goods.
Lee Dalton’s Ford touring car
was stolen from the street at
Sayre Monday, but the two men
who got it , were captured with
the car gt Clinton Tuesday ac-
cording to report that came in
Tuesday night. At this writing
Mr. Dalton has gone to Clinton
after his car. Mrs. Dalton had
driven the car to Sayre when it
was stolen and the thieves not
knowing to whom the car be-
longed, drove back through
Carter and had a ‘ire i atch«l at
Breeies’ shop, where Mr. Breeze,
thinking their actions were sus-
picious, took the number of the
car. They trailed them first to
Mangum and from there to Cbn-

Mr. C. C. Alley has purchased
the pretty home of Mr. D. H.
Lusk here in town, together
with his dray business, team and
wagon. Mr. Alley and Mr.
Graves have now combined their
dray business. Mr. Lusk is still
undecided as to his future plans.
He is one of the best citizens of
Carter and we would regret to
see him decide to leave the town
permanently.

SIMPSONS’
One of the biggest crowds that
has ever been in Carter was here
Saturday to take in the trades
day amusements, the shows, ro-
deo, and of course to do a lot of
trading. The amusements were
good and everybody had a good
time. Mr. Boone who had charge
of the program for the day is
sure on the job when it comes to
entertaining the crowds. The
sack race on the street was a-
bout the funniest part of the
whole program to everybody
except R. C. Woods. He was in
the race but lost out by trying
to fall from rope to rope instead
