Then comes the Laverne local
through their local secretary
and misquotes our statement
and makes it read as follows;
“A red card member, while at-
tending his local, tore up his

Compare the two statements
and see who lied. The Demo-
crat never made any statement
that anyone in Laverne quit the
socialist party, but that “Word |

The socialists garbled our state-

crediting the Democrat.

calamity howl of socialism has
been checked and the people
awakened to the rediculousness ^
of their impractical and treason-
ous theories, Durham attempts
to discredit the Democrat and
beshadow the issue by muck-
raking a few democrats and re-
publicans. Durham said that he
would rather the socialists win
than the democrats to get any- <
thing. Durham is a stand-pat le- ^
publican. He is so stand-pat that
he was willing to swallow Taft,
Cannon, Penrose, and all the
rest of that old gang of political
pirates that robbed this counti >
and foisted upon the rule hv
Wall Street, monoply and the
railroads, so stand-pat that he
sanctions a high protective
tariff, in order to protect the
“infant” (?) industries. Won-

the praises of those patriots?
