Honors Seniors
Breakfast Is Held By
Holy Trinity Students
BY TRIBUNE CORRESPONDENT
OKARCHE. May 27—The parents
and teachers of the senior class of
Holy Trinity school and Father Ed-
mund Von Elm were honored at a
breakfast at 9:30 a. m Sunday.
The breakfast was served in the
Holy Trinity hall, by candlelight, in
a rose garden setting. The meal was
prepared and served by the seniors.
The class was assisted in details
by Mrs. Rose Else hen. Mrs. Kate
Ludwig, Mrs. Elizabeth Hoehner and
Miss Rose Ann Rother.
On the program were Paul
Knecht, master of ceremonies: Alice
W1 e w e 1, valedictorian; Florence
Orellner. saluatorian. Ruth Ellen
Wlttrock. tribute.
Paul Knecht presented Father
Von Elm with a group picture of the
class.
After the breakout. Father Von
Elm showed a moving picture taken
while on the senior trip.
Events of the year included many
activities. The music department
under the direction of Sister M
Hlldegarde sponsored choral and
band programs, attended the state
band festival in Enid and climaxed
El Reno (Okla.) Daily Tribune
the year with a music night pro-
gram.
Commercial students of Holy
Trinity school, under the direction
of Sister M. Lioba. took part in the
National Catholic Highschool Typ-
ing association contest in which
Mildred Schaefer and Alice Wiewel
won honor certificates.
Other contests were entered. In
all. 10 pins, seven honor certificates
and eight honorable mentions were
attained.
The Juniors in the typing class
merited a banner for rating third
place in the National Every-Pupil
contest.
The new department of speech
and drama staged two productions,
“Fatima Calls.” given by the junior
class, and “Our Hearts Were Young
and Gay,” given by the seniors.
Holy Trinity school has become a
member of two national organiza-
tions. the National Catholic Theater
conference and the National Dra-
matic organization.
The school is the recipient of 800
plays and will receive the play of
the month for 10 successive years.

the supervision of Sister M
Remcgia. held two regional meets
in Okarche and El Reno, and mem-

bers attended a study week in Tulsa,
at which Mary Jo Naberhaus was
selected regional chairman for the
following year in the Enid deanery.
Other activities included the
freshman initiation, Junior box sup-
per, Junior-senior banquet, prom,
outside guest entertainers, movies,
girls' sports, and trips.
The crowning of Marcella Jacobs
as May queen, and Mary Jo Naber-
haus as basketball queen highlight-
ed the school year of 19&0.
Announcement was made Sunday
in Holy Trinity Catholic church of
the engagement of Miss Dorothea
Frances Morris, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Leo W. Morris, to William
Joseph Schaefer, son of Mr. and
Mrs. John Schaefer.
The wedding will be at 9 a. m.
June 7 in the Holy Trinity church.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Loder and
son. Charles, returned Wednesday
from Andale. Kan., where they vis-
ited Mr. and Mrs. Ed Simon and
family and Samuel Charles Simon,
Infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Simon.
Mrs. Simon is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Lodes. They also visited
another daughter, Sister M. Blaine,
who resides at Andale.
Mr. and Mrs. Dave Davenport and
children. David and Lynda, of Ponca
City, spent Sunday and Monday in
the home of Mrs. Davenport's par-
ents. Mr. and Mrs. John Baustert.
Mrs. J. Robert Rodenburg and
son, John Robert, of Springfield,
111., came Sunday for a few weeks
visit with the former’s mother, Mrs.
H. G. Schroder, and with other
relatives and friends here.
Sister Mary John Smith, who
was called here by the illness of her
father, John K. Smith, two weeks
ago. left last week to return to
Carlsbad, N. M.
Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Flegener,
Okarche, are the parents of a son
born May 20, at the hospital. The
baby weighed five pounds and
seven ounces.

rather, he had the habit. He dozed
off in a movie theater and when
he woke up he found that his accu-

Man Doesn’t Mind
Divorce But Rocks
MUNCIE, Ind., May 27—i/P)—Lee
Beaty filed a cross-complaint to the
divorce suit of his wife explaining
that he wouldn't mind a divorce,
but that all he wanted was to keep
his wife from throwing rocks at
his new car.
Broken Dam Gives
Town Fish Meal
DECATUR, Miss., May 27—(U.B
—While enlarging a dam around a
private lake on the farm of Hinton
Thornton near here, a bulldozer
rammed into a wall of the dam,
breaking It and letting all the
water out.
Decatur citizens hurried out and
helped themselves to hundreds of
pounds of fish from the well-
stocked lake and tossed a big pub-
lic fish fry.
In appreciation for the free meal,
residents are going to help Thorn-
ton rebuild the dam.
