The genius of Dr. Quayle does not run in one channel.
Besides hiD(? a preacher of great power te is a lecturer
fend writer of few equals and with all this he haa a
capacity for business that would make him rank with a
field marshal or an A. T. Stewart In the commercial
world. He takes a deep interest in civil and civic affairs
and his silver tongue and golden pen are ever ready
to champion the beist and broadest ideas ia the philorophy
of enlightened popular givernment.
Dr. Quayle did not want to be a bishop in the sense
of being a candidate for the place but his life had been
bo deserving of It and his abilities bo fitting for the
offi?e that his selection was almost Inevitable. He is
one that can be pointed-at when people desire an example
of the truth of that ever-hopeful and Innpiring American
proposition that there is always room for mrit at the top.
