The members of the C. L. 8.
C. met with Mrs. Anderson
Friday f ternoou.
Owing to the luclemency of
the weather the attendance was
less than at any previous meet
ing. However what was lack
ing in numbers was made up
in the character of the work
done.
As has been stated the scope
of the work includes aside from
the study of France and her
national development current
events together with questions
relative to olitical social sci-
entific aud educational reforms.
The members were at their best
and we are e afe in pronouncing
the efforts of Mesdan.es Ander-
son Biles Cruee Peyton
Thompson ami others as evinc-
ed in papeis and discussions
worthy to rank along with sim-
ilar productions of women who
adorn Sorosis or any of the wo-
men's clubs of metropolitan
cities.
Those who were unable to be
present at this meeting will pre-
sent the subject assigned them
at the next.
The discussion on the roll call
were timely and spirited bring-
ing out much history in regard
to the great charters of France
and England.
The artist-author Du Mau-
r.er and Prof. Swing were each
the theme of further thoughtful
discussion.
The program outlined for next
meeting is:
Continuation of French read-
ing. Table talk The Anglo-American
song writer Frederic
Nicholas Crouch aud his daugh-
ter. Quotations from Louise Mich-
aels and Sir Philip Sydney.
The circle will meet with
Mrs. Bogie next Friday after
noon.
