A MOST LIBERAL OFFER!
All our farmer readers should take
advantage of the unprecedented club-
bing offer we this year make, which
includes with this paper, and Oklaho-
ma Poultryman. The Live Stock Indi-
cator, its Special Farmers Institute
Editions and The Poultry Farmer.
These three publications are the best
of their class and should be in every
farm home. To them we add, for
ocal, county and general news, our
wo papers, and make the price of
the five one year only
Never before was so much superior
reading matter offered for so small
an amount of money. The three
papers named, which we club with
our own, are well known throughout
the West, and commend themselves
to the reader’s favorable attention
upon mere mention. The Live Stock
Indicator is the great agricultural
and live stock paper of the West.
The poultry Farmer is the most prac-|
tical poultry paper for the farmer,
while The Special Farmers’ Institute
Editions are the most practical pub-
lications for the promotion of good
farming ever published. Take ad-
vantage of this great offer, a? it will
hold good for a short time only.
Samples of these papers may be ex-
amined by calling at this offico.
The Governor of Pennsylvania re-
cently remarked that as the recent
strike had cost the state $1,(XX),000,
he thought it a good idea to pass a
law prohibiting strikes. Why would
it not be a good idea to pass a law
prohibiting the slavery of the em-
ployes in the state of Pennsylvania.
The Woodward Bulletin was awar-
ded the county printing at one per
cent of the legal rate. The com-
missioners pear to be trying to do
their duty in the way of saving the
tax payers as much as possible. If
they get everything done as cheap in
proportion as they did the county
printing, they would have money to
burn or build another court house.
However, we believe everyone should
get a living price for what they do.
Even a printer.
It seems that both Republicans and
I Democrats are divided on the ques-
l tion whether Okiahoma should come
into the union alone or with the In-
dian Territory included. Sentiment
is so mixed that Senator Bacon’s
suggestion may turn the scale. He
is willing to put both territories into
one state if Jefferson’s name is given
to the state. The desire to honor Jeff-
erson may solve the problem.—The
Commoner.
A lot of learned men trouble them
selves about the prehistoric man in
America. What is a prehistoric man ?
One who lived before history. Why
try to make a record for him? Why
did he not leave a record of himself?
The prehistoric man is no worse off
! than millians of us here now with
histories to burn. How many of us
will get our name in history? In a
millian years from now there may be
some skepticism aroused about the
fact that you and I ever lived at all.
; hat pyramids are we building to
hide our Cheops for future skeletons
; hunters? What monuments are we
going to leave behing? Why, we are
more inconsiderate about our here
after than the mound builders.—John
| Conway.
Even the grey hairs and long ex-
perience of the venerable Senator
from Massachusetts have not saved
him from unmerciful ridicule by his
republican colleagues who will stop
at nothing in order to save their
trust friends from a measure which
would prove so obnoxious to monoply.
The Senator from Massachusetts made
an able defense of his bill but it fell
upon deaf ears and there is little like
lihood of its ever passing the Senate.
Mrs. Wright is moving toherranoh
this week.
