Lightning Strikes Barn.
On last Monday evening aoout
5 o’clock lightning struck a barn
on a farm of the Commercial
Lind Company, 6 miles south of
town catching it on tire. .John
Hunt, Dutch Brader and another
man were in the barn at the
time. Mr. Hunt must have re-
ceived the full force of the boh
as he is now in a very critical
condition and not expected to
live. All three men were stand
ing in arms length of each other
and Mr. Brader received a
pretty heavy shock, and was un
conscious for some time, but
Hunt has never regained con
sciosness.
It was thought for a time that
all three were killed and it took
quick work to drag them from
the barn before it was enveloped
in flames.
Three mules were killed in
i the barn by the stroke and t\vo
! mares were burned in the fire
j that destroyed the barn, togeth-
er with harness, hay, ect.
Dr. Waterson was with the
patients Tuesday night and re-
ports Brader as doing very well
but Hunt is in a very critical
condition; has hemorrhage of the
brain and is not able to retain
anything on the stomach.
Latkk Mr. Hunt died about
1 1 o'clock Wednesday morning.

PARENTS DO YOU KNOW YOUR
We have been wondering if
parents in this town know the
disposition of their boys. When
boys get it in their head that i'
is fun to get out in the dark and
rock a house, you can just put it
down that they have not been
properly looked after, ant) it will
only be a question of time, un-
less there is something done
with them, until they will do
something worse.
Now we don’t say that all the
boys in Bixb.V are of this dispo-
sition, for there are lots of good
boys that vould not think of
doing such a trick. Last Tues-
day night we were disturbed in
this way by some boys and every
time we went to the door they
would run off in the dark and
aide and laugh. We stood the
disturbance as long we could
and finally give them a chase but
they were so fa*’ in advance
BOY? 1 that we could not catch them.
The next time tliis happens
we are going to catch them and
if their parents don’t deal with
them m such a way that they
will know better, we will see if
there isn’t a law that will fit
their case. We would rather
see a hoy of ours spend half his
life in a reformatory than
have him made up of the dispo-
sition to disturb someone and
laugh about it.
