It was one of the grandeit affairs
of the kind ever presented in this
city, regardless of Fraternity,
A large, appreciative and intelli-
gent audience was present.
Nothing was artificial. All mem-
bers played their part. well.
The .cene. manifested during the
Chapter of 8orrow will be long remem-
bered.
Why the brilliant examples that are
being set forth by these .alnted wom-
en cannot be emulated by other., and
why the people of all race, cannot
note the rapid progre.s that 1. being
made by our race (I Bay race because
no race can rise higher than their
women) Is a question.
One commendable feature of the
services was that the brethren were
among the first on hand to render
any needed assistance. The Grand
Secretary, Sister N. J. C. Johnson of
Guthrie, was present and presented a
check for the amount due as the death
benefit.
We, with the unanimous consent of
all present, say all hall to her royal
highness. God bless the Star

WE MUST WASH.
We may live without poetry,
Music and Art.
We may live without conscience,
May love without heart.
We may live without lovers.
Live without hopes;
But civilized women
Cannot live without soap.
We may live without books;
What is knowledge but sorrow.
We may live without beauty;
It borders on the morrow.
We may live without lawsuits
